Studio Intern

The Full Spectrum Studio is the only art studio in the Low Country specifically created for artists with disabilities. Our studio was established after visiting successful programs across the nation that modeled environments for creative self expression for artists with disabilities. As a result we opened our doors to the public at 33 Bow Circle in January of 2021. We currently serve seven permanent artists who spend regular hours at the studio creating, exploring, gaining life skills by expressing themselves creatively in various media.

Our primary medium is pottery focusing on hand building. Our studio has all the tools needed to create amazing pieces of art to include but not limited to pug mill, slab roller, and kiln. All art work is subject to regular critique processes, which allows our artists to introspectively explore the value of their work and determine what changes, if any they would do in future pieces. As in any art studio, there are studio hands to help when the artist needs more than their own two. Sometimes our artists only have one hand they can use, which is when you can help. Sometimes our artists need help remembering a process, here you can help. Sometimes they need someone to discuss ideas with, here you can help.

Our artists are all members of the Art League of Hilton Head where they regularly show their work and have often successfully sold pieces. Our artists, when able, are encouraged to participate in any of the many markets where we have a presence to include the Hilton Head Farmer's Market on Tuesdays from 9 to 1 at Honey Horn, and the Hilton Head Community Market at Shelter Cove on Saturdays from 9:30 to 12:30.

The successful intern does not specifically need art experience but MUST have excellent communication and people skills. A desire to learn, develop skills, and become a part of a rewarding effort are also required attributes. Working with our artists you will learn more than you could ever expect, and you too will find and elevate your creative voice. Our team of artists are a true representation of people who are regularly underestimated, but who rise to, and exceed all expectations. This is NOT an opportunity for everyone, but it IS an opportunity everyone should explore. This internship is for high school or college students. It is for weekday work with our artists, or weekend work with our artists at our markets.

Education and Events Manager

Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Familiarity with online learning platforms (Zoom, webinars) and project management tools. Experience with GrowthZone is a plus!
Ability to attend events outside normal business hours.

Southern Tide Retail Supervisor

Join our team at Southern Tide, a premier southern brand where comfort meets style. As a Retail Supervisor, you'll play a vital role in ensuring a positive and welcoming guest experience at our store located at the beautiful Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina. You'll work closely with the store manager to oversee daily operations and store activities.

Essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Accurately operate cash register including all cash and credit transactions
Keep professional attitude and appearance, striving for complete customer satisfaction
Maximize every sales opportunity by cross selling profitable products
Spend majority time on the sales floor ensuring guest satisfaction by providing excellent customer service and being attentive to guest needs
Ensure inventory levels are adequate and stock merchandise as needed
Use design skills to create eye-catching product displays and store layouts to attract customers and encourage them to buy products
Check-in merchandise and tag properly as directed
Keep stock rooms neat and orderly according to standards
Support sales associates, including the training of sales associates in accordance with company policy and procedure
Work to develop a strong product knowledge and disseminate that information to the other sales associates
Work with customer telephone sales when special orders are necessary
Maintain continuous inspection of shops for orderliness and neatness
May be assigned certain responsibilities for a shop, such as in charge of a certain line of goods in a shop for sales and inventory control purposes as directed by the Store Manager

Qualifications:

General knowledge of merchandise and retail trends
Demonstrate leadership skills with self starter tendencies
Strong communication and problem solving skills
Previous knowledge of Micros POS system preferred
Education/licensure/certifications:

College level coursework in management, retail management, or other business-related field desired. Minimum high school graduate.

Building Inspector (II or III)

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Conduct inspection of residential construction projects for compliance with all Building, Plumbing, Electrical, and Mechanical Codes and ensure construction is in accordance with approved plans
- Conduct inspection of commercial construction projects for compliance in specific licensed discipline of Building, Plumbing, Electrical, or Mechanical Codes, and FEMA flood requirements, and ensure construction is in accordance with approved plans
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of residential plans to ensure code compliance
Interpret codes and regulations and explain permit and compliance conditions
- Document and maintain complete and accurate records of all inspections and any regulatory actions taken
- Confer with and provide information regarding code requirements to developers, engineers, architects, property owners, the public, and other interested parties as required
- Investigate complaints regarding unauthorized or non-compliant construction, and issues “stop work orders” as necessary
- Compare “as-builts” of completed development with the approved plans and work with Code Enforcement Officers if the “as-builts” are not in compliance with the approve plans

QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's license

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Building Inspector II
- State of SC LLR license as Commercial Inspector and International Code Council (ICC) certification in two (2) Commercial disciplines

Building Inspector III
- State of SC LLR license as Commercial Inspector and International Code Council (ICC) certifications in all four (4) Commercial disciplines

Executive Sous Chef

Job Tasks (Essential Functions):

Assist Executive Chef with new hires, training and supervision of kitchen personnel.
Attends weekly General Manager’s Meeting, Staff Meeting and Food & Beverage Meeting in the absence of the Executive Chef. Report applicable information to the kitchen staff.
Interacts on a daily basis with the Clubhouse Dining Room Manager to ensure food quality and production exceeds expectations of members and guests.

Maintains a thorough knowledge of all menus and preparation procedures for all items.

Assist in receiving, checking quality of products and proper storage of all food items, dry goods, and janitor and cleaning supplies.
Oversees the proper cleaning and maintenance of all equipment and storage areas used by the kitchen staff.
In the absence of the Executive Chef, orders all food items, including produce, dry goods, cleaning supplies, etc. Receive, record and process items for inventory.
Continuously learn about new techniques, styles, and methods of food preparation and presentation.
Assist Executive Chef on daily menu specials/changes, day-to-day running of the kitchen, waste control and end of month inventory.

Additional Responsibilities:

Conducts pre-arrival calls to owners, renters, and exchangers. Confirms appointments with guests to ensure tour reservations and improve show rate. Completes required paperwork accurately and completely for each tour. Checks availability so as to not overbook tour waves.

Ensures guests meet minimum eligibility for gifts as provided or promotes a courtesy tour. Follows gifting procedures to ensure costs are met monthly.

Provides location-related guest service to resort guests and visitors, including advising guests to resort services for specific assistance or information. Distributes only HGV-authorized information, collateral, and materials. Maintains location operating standards.

Carries out all other reasonable requests by management that one is capable of performing. Contacts appropriate management with any guest issues.

Schedule Details: Our Marketing Concierge will work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.

Eligibility: All U.S. hourly Team Members not represented by a labor organization or subject to the collective bargaining agreement.
