Financial Aid Specialist

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides exceptional service and financial aid advising through accurate and clear delivery of information related to Federal Title IV student financial aid, state aid, and other forms of private student financial aid. Assists with completion of the FAFSA; gathers, interprets, reviews and analyzes documentation for eligibility and requests additional documentation for incomplete or inconsistent applications to perform accurate needs analysis and verification of files. Performs packaging and awarding functions. Ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations applicable to the delivery of financial aid.
Responsible for handling the primary means of communication between students and the TCL Financial Aid Office by answering email communication through the Financial Aid mailbox in a timely manner. Serves as the initial point of contact by answering the phone and seeing in-person appointments and walk-ins. Reply to voicemail and email messages in a timely manner. Process routine outgoing communications including but not limited to award notices, loan notifications and exit counseling. Oversees all communication campaigns regarding financial aid events, important financial aid updates, and other pertinent financial aid information to be communicated to various stakeholders in mass.
Assists with various aspects of reconciliation of the Federal Pell Grant and Federal Loan programs. Assist with monitoring Pell Lifetime Eligibility Used (LEU) and Federal Aggregate Limits (SULA). Assist with review and resolution of Transfer Monitoring Reporting. Serves as the backup for import and export of financial aid data processes. Responsible for processing R2T4 in compliance with Federal regulations.
Responsible for production activities that support logging, imaging and filing paper and electronic documents. Ensure documents needing review are available for processing by appropriate staff members in a timely manner. Stay abreast of document imaging policies and procedures.
Processes federal and private loan applications. Deliver effective and efficient communication via one-on-one and group financial aid counseling, including educational financing, debt management, and default management. Ensure all Federal Student Loan Requests have a complete and valid MPN and entrance counseling. Guides parents in navigating the Federal PLUS Loan program ensuring timely responses to parents and students. Oversees exit counseling processes and communication.
Assists with monitoring and evaluation of student financial aid satisfactory academic progress (SAP). Assist with adjudication of student appeals relating to academic progress including but not limited to tracking student appeals, tracking of documents and updates to SAP eligibility and communication. Processes end of term functions, checking academic plan completion and cancellation of aid as needed.
Reviews requests from students/parents who have unusual circumstances that are not reflected in their initial application for aid. Ensures appropriate documentation is obtained and cases are presented to the Financial Aid Director, for review as needed.
Ensures all student/parent information is safe guarded according to general FERPA regulations, institutional policies, and with extended restrictions of Financial Aid & Veterans Affairs Policies and Procedures. Ensures scanning is completed in a timely manner and meets the state and federal electronic records storage requirements.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Trades Specialist V

Essential Functions

Maintain, install and repair electrical switches, light ballasts, all types of campus lighting including indoor, outdoor, exit and emergency lighting, replacing defective wall outlets, installing additional electrical receptacles in areas where required or during renovation projects performed by college maintenance department. Assists in ensuring all work is code compliant. Keeps records and schedules quarterly maintenance on exterior lights, exit lights and emergency lights.
Troubleshooting/testing of all types of electrical equipment including low voltage to high voltage hookups, motors, transformers, control panels and light electronic controls. identifying defective parts, submitting parts lists to supervisor for immediate procurement and repairing/replacing required parts as necessary.
Perform work related to the general repair, maintenance and construction in\ the following trade areas: Plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC and electric.
Performs periodic inspections of various components of all college facilities and equipment to ensure proper upkeep and maintenance. Schedules and maintains records of preventative maintenance. Monitors and fulfills maintenance work order requests. Consults with College managers and directors to ensure all maintenance needs are being met as planned.
Prepares budget estimates for requested projects. Selects and purchases (or requisitions) supplies and equipment needed for maintenance and special renovation projects. Performs various administrative functions such as completion of log and historical records.
Assist in other trade specialist in repairs, renovation, upgrades, minor repairs and maintenance to equipment and tools, moves office furniture and arranges conference rooms and meeting areas as needed for various meetings and conferences; grounds-keeping duties and carpentry repairs. Respond to emergency calls after normal working hours and/or be available to work as support services for college activities such as graduation and other college hosted events outside of normal work schedule. Performs all other related duties as may be assigned. Operates College vehicles and a forklift when necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent and formal training or trade experience that is directly related to the area of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred: Associate Degree with four years directly related work experience to include one year in a supervisory capacity. Preferred experience includes preventative and planned maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems and planning and wiring new electrical systems.

Reviews Record Drawings with engineers and BJWSA’s Inspectors to ensure all required data is furnished and is accurate.

Maintains, updates, and recommends organizational standard operating procedures.

Prepares professional correspondence (letters, memos, e-mails, reports, schedules, etc.) as necessary to administer existing programs and initiatives.

POSITION SUMMARY

United Way of the Lowcountry (UWLC) partners with companies, creating mutually beneficial relationships that boost philanthropy, volunteerism, and employee engagement. These partnerships have yielded more than $600,000 in annual workplace campaigns. The Corporate Engagement Manager will manage and deepen relationships with business accounts to increase engagement and philanthropic giving to support transformative change within Beaufort and Jasper counties. This role will focus on creating and executing short- and long-term plans to drive revenue growth by forging new partnerships and exploring business opportunities. This is a hands-on, in-the-community position that is vital, both internally and externally. The Corporate Engagement Manager is required to be an innovative and creative thinker, have salesmanship and collaboration skills, and have the determination to translate community needs into opportunities to make a difference through financial support of UWLC.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Fundraising and Donor Stewardship

Build strategic year-round relationships that align with the mission and vision of UWLC.
Develop, implement, and manage workplace fundraising campaigns in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
Responsible for seeking new corporate prospects and developing relationships with new or lapsed workplace campaigns resulting in event partnerships, volunteers, and increased revenue.
Implement workplace campaign best practices including leadership and corporate giving.
Coordinate with corporate partners to set campaign goals, develop promotional materials, and create engaging content.
Review past giving and performance history for organizations and develop appropriate strategies for engagement.
Creatively and collaboratively plan and execute various special events to accomplish corporate engagement objectives.
Track and analyze workplace campaign performance, providing regular updates and reports to stakeholders.
Monitor all third-party processed accounts.
Provide training to workplace coordinators of participating businesses and provide support and education pertaining to UWLC programs and impact throughout the year.

2. Partnership Development:

Execute year-round engagement strategies with UWLC corporate partners to maximize engagement and increase revenue.
Conduct presentations and meetings with company leaders and employee groups to promote UWLC’s mission, programs, and fundraising opportunities.
Provide exceptional support and stewardship to existing corporate partners, ensuring a positive and productive relationship.
Through strong relationship-building skills, gain a deep understanding of each corporate relationship and how UWLC can assist with their Corporate Social Responsibility goals.
3. Employee/Volunteer Engagement:

Represent UWLC at each company, lead presentations, and attend events as requested.
Organize and execute events, activities, and volunteer opportunities to encourage employee participation in UWLC initiatives.
Accompany coordinators to meetings with corporate partners to secure commitments for corporate giving, leadership giving, and employee workplace campaigns.
Lead a team of corporate engagement coordinators to achieve mutually agreed-upon goals.
In conjunction with the Marketing Department, develop and distribute materials that inspire and motivate employees to engage in workplace giving.
Serve as a resource for employees seeking information about United Way’s programs and impact.
Provide training to coordinators of targeted organizations and provide support throughout the year.
Facilitate meetings and provide the volunteers with timely reports, information, and collateral so they are successful in their fundraising efforts.
4. Strategy and Planning:

Collaborate with the fundraising team to develop annual goals and strategies for each workplace campaign.

5. CRM and Database Management:

Learn and utilize the Charity Proud CRM system for prospect management and reporting.

Prison Program Coordinator

  1. Responsible for overall management and coordination of the College’s Prison Education Program. Will serve as a liaison with the College, prison officials, and the Dept. of Correction

general plumbing duties to include but not limited to cleaning/clearing drains,
sinks, sewer lines, toilets, installation of toilets, sinks, faucets, urinals,

2. Performs
routine preventative maintenance and repair tasks on a regular schedule to
include but not limited to grounds keeping equipment, electrical fixtures, such
as ceiling fans, changing filters, belts, repairing electrical switches,
receptacles, light motors, painting, masonry, etc. Perform various
administrative functions such as logs and historical records. Monitor and
fulfill maintenance work order requests.

3. Performs
general construction, repair & maintenance duties to include but not
limited to: building forms, repairing and painting walls, doors, windows;
paneling and drywall installation; makes repairs to shingle roofs, flat roofs,
metal roofs, siding, soffit, trim, ceilings, drop ceilings, etc.

4. Performs
grounds keeping duties to include but not limited to operating gas-powered
mowers, trimmers and edger in keeping lawns mowed, walks/curbs trimmed and

minor repairs and maintenance to equipment and tools. Respond to emergency

5. Assist
other trade specialists in moving office furniture and arranging

services for college activities such as graduation and other college hosted

Technical Maintenance Specialist I:

SUMMARY: Under general supervision, assists with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, instrumentation, maintenance and repair of all equipment related to BJWSA’s water and sewer systems. Assists in troubleshooting and assessment of maintenance and repairs, the planning and requisition of parts, and the implementation of repair.

Duties include but are not limited to:

An entry-level position in the multi-skilled Field Operations workforce. 1) Provides advising to students and groups on a variety of personal, social, financial, career and academic matters in support of guided pathways. May teach First Year Experience course(s).

2) Manage advisee caseload, personalized communications and maintain accurate, detailed records of all advising contacts in the student success management system.

3) Manage early alert program for caseload using real time data to proactively improve student success through a system of connected and coordinated network of support for students. Provide first level targeted interventions and strategic care to students beginning in the first year through graduation. Manage communication between faculty and other student support services including but not limited to tutoring, personal counseling and disability services.

4) Proactively track, contact, and work with special student populations including but not limited to high risk, first generation, students who miss or have not made appointments, and students on academic probation or suspension.5)Collaborates with faculty to ensure current program knowledge in order to effectively assist students with guided pathways selection.
