Trades Specialist IV

Supervise1. Directs and oversees work of physical plant personnel to ensure quality, completeness, efficiency and positive customer service
2. Provide supervisory functions for staff, including, evaluations, development, discipline, approval of leave, work hours and scheduling.
3. Schedules monthly inspections of mechanical, electrical rooms and department fleet to ensure compliance and order.
Maintenance
1. Performs plumbing repairs and inspections, performs electrical repairs, performs carpentry projects / repair.
2. Ensures facilities and equipment are kept in proper working order and present a good appearance
3. Develop, maintains, and manages a college maintenance plan to address preventative and deferred maintenance
4. Assists with manage all major construction and renovation projects
Grounds
1. Ensures all College grounds, landscaping and hardscaping is attractive, neat and well-maintained.
Other
1. Responsible for maintenance and administration of college vehicle fleet
2. Serve as first level after-hours responder to emergency notifications (fire alarms, broken water mains, etc.)
3. Serves as the representative of the Department/Division/College in various internal and external meetings and functions.
• Performs all other duties as assigned
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent and formal training or trade experience that is directly related to the area of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
An associate’s degree or a minimum of five (5) years journey-level trades work experience and two (2) years supervisory experience.
