Associate Vice President Academic Affairs

Assist the VPAA in providing leadership that ensures that the college designs, develops and delivers a comprehensive array of instructional programs and services which fulfills the institution's mission. In the areas of general education, transfer education, vocational and technical training, workforce development, economic development opportunities, dual enrollment and community service.
Assist the VPAA to plan, design, develop, and deliver college education opportunities by ensuring educational programs that support the mission and goals of the college outside agencies in matters related to the college instructional programs and college mission.
Assist the VPAA in providing leadership for evaluating and ensuring quality in all aspects of the college's instructional and educational programs with staff and faculty. Provide leadership and direction for engaging faculty and staff participation in supporting college-wide implementation of educational priorities, program development, program review, curriculum and articulation initiatives, assessment of student learning outcomes and college wide learning initiatives. Assist the VPAA in ensuring continuous evaluation of the viability and economic feasibility of curricula to ensure.
Recommend, develop and implement multiyear strategic and annual operation, instructional policies, procedures, and practices which foster and promote student learning success throughout the organization with the VPAA. Assist the VPAA in creating organizational structures, hiring personnel and obtaining resources to ensure a student-centered success model focused at all levels.
Assist in developing, fostering and promoting new opportunities for educational partnerships with industry, public and private education providers, state and federal prisons, juvenile and alternative education opportunities, GED providers, and private sector entities.
Communicate an accurate image of the college to the public. Positively and actively represents the college in the local community. Addresses impromptu situations involving the college during non-traditional work hours; Supports college activities and special events through attendance, planning and participation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A Master's degree and six (6) years of progressively responsibility of management and supervisor experience in one or more areas of instructional management, or an effective combination of education and experience; demonstrated understanding of and the commitment to the technical college mission of purpose, teaching and learning, and student success.
