Summary ObjectiveThe purpose of this internship position is to assist the Passive Parks Naturalist with environmental education programs to teach the public about the natural and historical features of Beaufort County through social media, and in-office public and community engagement.Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
Assists in the coordination and creation of an environmental education program.
Accompanies the Passive Parks Naturalist in teaching and guiding free nature programs for the public.
Cares for educational animal ambassadors.
Creates social media and newsletter content for the department.
Performs related work as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must be currently enrolled in college.
Supplemental Information
All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment.
